Solving your toddler sleep problems is very important for his/her development. Your child needs the sleeping time as much or even more than you do. A toddler will typically need around 11 hours of sleep to be completely rested but getting a toddler to sleep is easier said than done. Another symptom is the lack of appetite. The child needs to eat healthy and nutritious food in order to have energy to play and to learn. If a toddler has trouble sleeping, because is watching too much TV, they will probably gain a lot of weight as they will crave for snacks that aren’t healthy at all. A toddler’s immune system will also be affected by the lack of sleep and they will be more prone to get diseases. As you can see when they don’t get their rest the toddler sleep problems will create a lot hard situations, however, there are a couple of things that you can do.

1. First make sure the toddler’s room is dark enough so light does not get in during the night.

2. Also decorating their room appropriately and putting some of their favorite toys in the bed will make them to get in more likely.

3. Establish a routine to indicate that is time to sleep. Like 30 minutes before sleeping create transition to slowly make them sleepy. Dim the lights and use a quiet and calm environment so the toddler feels relaxed. You could use a white noise machine to increase the relaxation in the room.

Remember to tell the child that you love him before sleeping and that everything will be okay.
